Book launch promo

Alice 04

We've recently started working with publishers Simon & Schuster to make films to promote new book launches.

The first project was for two books by Professor Alice Roberts about the archaeology of prehistoric burials - Ancestors and Buried. We filmed at Cheddar Gorge for its stunning landscape and rich archaeological heritage, producing 6x short films on different aspects of the books.

The budget wasn't high for this project so we had to shoot very tightly in the short time we had for filming. This is a good example of where our 25 years plus of production experience come in handy to know just what you need for a sequence and then move on to the next scenario. It also helped that Alice is a seasoned pro who sped through her pieces in double quick time!

Our next project for Simon & Schuster took us to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park in East London to film with forager Mo Wilde for her book The Wilderness Adventure about a year living solely off what the land could provide. One of the 3x films is below.

Beeston Media were incredible to work with on a series of videos with Professor Alice Roberts. They understood the brief immediately and offered ideas and insight I had not considered, bringing their expertise to bear at every stage to improve the end result. They went above and beyond before the shoot and on the day, remaining resourceful and positive throughout (despite a few challenges!). The final videos are amazing, with the drone footage surely being a publishing first. They are definitely the best book videos I have ever seen and were integral to the marketing campaign. The team are also efficient, communicative and a pleasure to work with. I have already recommended them to all of my marketing colleagues!
